Text: Clinical manifestation of atherosclerotic disease in the arteries that supply the myocardium (heart muscle). Coronary atherosclerosis may be asymptomatic, but progressive narrowing of the coronary arteries can produce symptoms such as angina pectoris. Atherosclerotic lesiolns can also rupture suddently, leading to clot formation (thrombosis) and acute heart attack.
