Caption: Intermittent Claudication
Text: Intermittent claudication is pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (typically the calf) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles of the leg. A typical description would be the occurrence of crampy calf pain which occurs after walking and relieved by stopping and resting. It is intermittent in the sense that it comes and goes with exertion and rest, although some individuals experience pain and cramping even at rest.
