Description:

So just as a little review, in the ACA, coverage options for non-pregnant adults were Medicaid. Then you moved up to exchange with assistance, then exchange without assistance. Here in a non-expanding state, you are probably not going to get Medicaid unless you fit into one of the categories of being a child, pregnant, or disabled. But you can use the exchanges with assistance from 100 to 400, and above 400, it's the same.

So some states do offer adult with children some Medicaid, but often the FPL could be something like 7, 15, 17. So think about 17% percent of $11,000 is not really much of an income. Also remember that I talk about being eligible for assistance on the exchange because if you live in a state with a low premium, you may not, depending on your income, basically be eligible for assistance because the federal guidelines for how much of your income you should have to pay at the max for your own premium is consistent across the country.
